Winning The Game Of Business
I just finished writing my new book titled, The Entrepreneur's Quest for Ultimate Success.
Talk about challenging your comfort zone!
Until two years ago, I had never even thought about writing a book. When I finally decided to do it, I had no idea where to begin such a daunting task. Even after I managed to begin, there were quite a few times I found myself stalling or even temporarily quitting. But I kept choosing to opt back in until i finally finished.
I thought writing the book was the hard part. I never imagined all the stuff a brand new book author like me has to do!
For example, did you know that once you write a book, You now have to go out and promote and market it?
Having never written a book, I didn't know a whole lot about book promotion. I've since learned this means I must start speaking to groups, doing radio interviews, arrange for book signings, seek out book reviews, develop media kit, drum up testimonials and -- the most difficult part for me - is having to ask for the necessary help needed to pull all this off.
To make matters worse, wedged just below all my discomfort of having to learn so much so fast, are all my deep-seated doubts and fears about how good the book really is.
My fear of rejection, fear of failure, fear of speaking and a million other fears that go bump in the night, all collude to keep me trapped inside my own comfort zone. My fears tell me my book is not really good enough. My fears are just begging me to quit.
But I cannot and will not quit.
Instead, I must be a stand for what matters most to me, namely helping others to connect with their true purpose and potential so they can have this extraordinary experience that I call " Ultimate Success."
I am doing whatever it takes to achieve my dream. And even if the process at times seems daunting, difficult and scary, I remind myself that my vision is driving the bus, not those negative thoughts in my head.
I love challenging my comfort zone. When I let go of what I think is possible, then the impossible becomes possible. Knowing and honoring what matters most to me is the key in staying the coarse to all possibility. Out there - beyond mere comfort and safety - is where you will find what is really possible!
So... what do you care about so much that you are willing to walk through your fears to realize your dreams? What impossible dream do you have that if you could step outside your comfort zone would become possible?
In other words, What matters most to you?
